DearPenn Stater: APenn State Homecoming wouldn’t be complete without the traditional pre-gametailgate: a sizzling grill, cold beer, and the company of fellow Penn Statersanticipating another Nittany Lion victory. Atthe Penn State Alumni Association’s Homecoming Celebration on Oct. 17, youngalumni—and the young at heart—can enjoy tailgating without the work oforganizing one. Tailgaters can load up at a buffet of pulled pork, brats,salads, dessert, and beer and wine. Oneof State College’s most beloved bar bands, Velveeta, will be on hand playingtheir popular mix of “cheesy ’80s covers” and the Alumni Blue Band will stop byto stoke the crowd with Penn State fight songs. Thetailgate tent will be conveniently located across Porter Road from BeaverStadium in Porter Gardens at Lubrano Park, home of Penn State baseball and theState College Spikes. Admissionis $30 for Alumni Association members, $40 for non-members, $15 for childrenunder 18, and free for children 5 and under. To register, go to www.alumni.psu.edu/events.
