JOB SUMMARY

The Secretary is responsible for ensuring that accurate and sufficient documentation exists to meet Chapter reporting requirements, and to enable authorized persons to determine when, how, and by whom the Board of Director’s of the Greater Boston Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association was conducted.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Secretary shall:

  • Maintains records of the Board and ensures effective management of Chapter's records. This should allow for:
    • accurate recollection of decisions
    • determination of eligibility to vote
    • continuity of policies and practices and
    • accountability of directors and officers
  • Manage the minutes of Board meetings
  • Ensures minutes are distributed to Board and membership shortly after each meeting
  • Assure all the annual filings (as appropriate) at the state level federal level for non-profit organizations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Secretary shall perform other duties as assigned by the President and/or Board of Directors
