President

The President shall be the identified representative of the Greater Boston Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. This president is responsible for leading and directing the efforts of the Chapter’s resources and membership. To ensure the best results, the President actively facilitates collaboration and partnerships by involving the membership and by personally promoting participation, volunteerism, and philanthropy.

The President shall:

• Preside over all chapter level meetings including preparing of the meeting agenda and identifying a suitable location to facilitate the meetings
• Act as the chapter's primary point of contact to the PSAA
• Communicate out the Annual Report to the PSAA
• Maintain chapter permanent records
• Prepare the yearly budget to be approved by the Board of Directors
• Be the chairperson for the executive board
• Assure chapter compliance with all by-laws, policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws
• Assure all direct reporting positions properly execute their duties and essential job functions
• With the approval of the Board of Directors, establish committees and appoint committee chairpersons
• Be ex-officio of all committees
• In the case of a vacancy of an executive board position, fill that position with the approval of the majority vote of the Board of Directors
• Have the authority given by the Board of Directors to go into contract with any organization external to the Chapter. Shall provide yearly input for the position and underlying committees for the yearly budget

The President shall perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
